Nearly 150 middle and high school music students in Lexington Two have been recognized for their exceptional talents by being selected to prestigious district groups. Recognizing the talent and dedication of these students, the district has chosen 88 students for the upcoming Lexington Two Honor Band Clinic and 58 students for the Lexington Two District Honors Orchestra. Let’s delve into the details of these exceptional groups:
The Honor Band Clinic, now in its fifth year, showcases the musical abilities of 39 middle schoolers and 49 high schoolers. Middle school students underwent auditions earlier this year, while high school students were selected based on recommendations from their directors. The students in these bands will receive mentorship from educators Edna Grace and Alyssa Haley. Despite having only 10 hours of preparation time, these students are committed to putting on a remarkable performance on April 12, under the guidance of Hunter Reese, the band director at Busbee Creative Arts Academy.
Fifty-eight students from various middle and high schools in Lexington Two have been chosen for the Lexington Two District Honors Orchestra. These students underwent a rigorous audition process and had the opportunity to work with guest clinicians before their performance last month.
