South Carolina Highway Patrol Seeks Public Assistance in Fatal Hit and Run Case in Beaufort County

The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is earnestly seeking information related to an appalling hit and run incident that resulted in a fatality in Beaufort County recently. The appalling accident, involving an unidentified vehicle and a pedestrian, occurred on Monday, June 24 around 10:00 PM, on the usually busy SC-170 (Okatie Highway) near US-278.

Fatal Incident Details

The entire incident unfolded on SC-170 (Okatie Highway) near US-278. The suspect vehicle, believed to be a 2007-2009 model of a Toyota Camry, struck the pedestrian, leading to the tragic fatality. It is surmised that the vehicle may have sustained damage to the left-front area due to the impact from the collision. However, the specific color of the suspect vehicle remains unknown at this stage of investigation.

Following the fatal encounter, the suspect vehicle was last spotted proceeding west on SC-170 towards Bluffton. The authorities are working strenuously to trace the involved vehicle and bring the errant driver to justice. They believe that any additional clues from the public could be crucial in cracking the case.
