With a solid 80% chance of rain, we expect rainfall to accumulate near a quarter of an inch, so it’s wise to dress accordingly!

Impressive displays feature historical artifacts, archival newsreels, striking photographs, and heartwarming oral histories. A few standout pieces include:
- A uniform worn by Ernest Henderson, Sr. from Laurens, who trained the legendary Tuskegee airmen.
- The flight helmet of Horace “Sally” Crouch, a navigator-bomber for the famous Doolittle Raiders.
- A Red Cross Motor Corps uniform worn by Kate Montgomery Ward from Spartanburg.
- A holiday card sent by Jack Williams from Pearl Harbor one day before the infamous attack that changed history.
- A Naval Jack Flag that flew above U-505, a notable capture of World War II.
These artifacts are not just items; they tell the stories of courage, sacrifice, and heroism of our local community during one of history’s most significant conflicts. This weekend is a perfect opportunity to reflect and honor our veterans, so gather your friends and family and head to the museum!
