Renowned country music band Alabama will be headed to Segra Park for the first ever Southern BBQ Showdown this summer. The band, with 43 #1 singles and over 178 awards to their name, including two Grammys, will be the headliner of the first-of-its-kind competition.

The inaugural Southeastern BBQ Showdown will be held June 14-15 at Segra Park. The Capital City/Lake Murray County Regional Tourism Board (CCLMC) announced the two day celebration in 2023, claiming the event to be the first food sport competition to grace a sports stadium in the United States. The competition will offer visitors and BBQ fans many opportunities to learn from the pros and sample BBQ from 25 different teams.
