High-Caliber Acquisitions for App State

Both Bomar and Weaver have been on the radar of recruiters nationwide owing to their exceptional performances at the high school level. The duo, who have shared a field in Anderson, South Carolina, have now decided to continue their on-field partnership at Appalachian State.

“I’m home” – Chamarryus Bomar

“Very blessed” – Armoni Weaver

The duo’s tweets indicate a sense of home at App State, hinting at a strong potential of a fruitful and smoothly transitioned college career ahead.

Scouting Report: Chamarryus Bomar & Armoni Weaver

Stepping into the 2025 class, Bomar and Weaver leave behind an impressive high school career. According to 247Sports, both players ranked within the top ten 2025 recruits across South Carolina – Weaver at #8 and Bomar at #9. In addition, both secure three-star prospects as per 247Sports’ ratings.

At 5-foot-10 and 170-pounds, Weaver is an intimidating defensive back. He closed out his last season with 15 tackles, two of which were for a loss. Add an interception, nine defended passes, and a fumble recovery to the equation, and his prowess becomes abundantly clear.

Bomar, on the other hand, is another powerhouse in the defensive back department. Weighing 180-pounds and standing 5-foot-10 tall, he’s accounted for four interceptions over the past two seasons. In addition to 34 tackles, he also displayed his offensive capabilities, catching 36 passes for 442 yards and three touchdowns.

Mountaineers’ 2025 Roster Takes Shape

With the addition of Bomar and Weaver, Appalachian State football now has eight reported commitments for the 2025 class. As it stands now, Bomar and Weaver are the highest-rated prospects within the group.

Expectations are high as the Mountaineers begin their 2024 season on August 31 against East Tennessee State. With these promising additions to their 2025 roster, the team seems well-positioned for a fruitful season.
