In a worrying turn of events in Lexington, South Carolina, a local man has been charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, third-degree assault and battery, possession of a deadly weapon by a person barred from owning such, and possession of illegal narcotics. Jerry William Hall, Jr., aged 29, is the prime suspect in this shocking case.
The Lexington County Deputies received a distress call from an alarmed neighbor and were quickly dispatched to a residence on Bayonet Road. Subsequent investigations led the authorities to find an individual, who seemed to have been severely beaten, hidden in the surrounding woodland area.
Eyewitness testimonies have shed further light on the severity of the incident. According to Sheriff Jay Koon, the victim was reportedly trapped in their own house by Hall over the span of nine hours during which time they were repeatedly assaulted. Sheriff Koon further narrated that Hall had used his steel-toed boots to kick the victim, punched them, and even restricted their airway until they lost consciousness.
Moreover, adrenaline soared when the witnesses finally dared to set foot inside the house, only to be threatened by Hall himself. They were reportedly told that they would be killed as well, marking a horrifying turn to this already disturbing ordeal.
However, by the time law enforcement arrived on the scene, Hall had vacated the premises. Reports indicate that he was eventually located and detained on Friday in the 100 block of Buggy Road.
The suspect, Hall, has since been transferred to the Lexington County Detention Center. In a subsequent hearing, a magistrate judge firmly denied the request for his bond, thus keeping him incarcerated for the foreseeable future.
Further information and updates are expected as the investigation continues.
