Augusta Road/US-1 at Carlen Avenue Reopens After Closure Due to Wreck

LEXINGTON, S.C. – Augusta Road/US-1 at Carlen Avenue has reopened after briefly closing down due to a crash Thursday morning. The collision involving a car and semi-truck caused all inbound and outbound lanes on Augusta Road/US-1 at Carlen Avenue to be closed. The closure went into effect at around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning and lasted about an hour and a half. According to the Lexington Police Department (LPD), the accident occurred when the driver of the car experienced a medical incident and was hit by the truck. The driver was subsequently taken to a hospital by EMS, and his current condition is unknown at this time.
