It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Barry Dooley’s passing on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at his home. Barry, known for his love of family and community, was born in Richland County to Nathan Herman and Lois Sease Dooley. As we remember him, it’s clear that he leaves behind a legacy of love.
Barry is survived by a tight-knit family who will cherish his memory forever. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lois Dooley; his son, Justin Dooley; and his brother, Marvin Dooley, along with his sister-in-law, Melissa Dooley. Additionally, he leaves behind a nephew, Byron Dooley, and a niece, Krystal Massey, who will always keep him in their hearts.
Barry was not only devoted to his family but also had a deep passion for the outdoors. Anyone who knew him would affirm his love for golf, hunting, and fishing. He spent countless hours enjoying nature and sharing unforgettable moments with friends and family. Whether he was teeing off on the golf course or spending a lazy afternoon fishing, Barry’s spirit was always lively and bright.
Barry’s impact stretched far beyond his family. As a dedicated member of St. David Lutheran Church, he served not just as a member of the church council but also made a difference by teaching Sunday School and participating in various committees. His commitment to the community didn’t stop there; he was also a beloved coach for Dixie Youth Baseball, girls’ softball, and both county basketball and football teams. Barry was known for encouraging young athletes and instilling values of teamwork and discipline.
As friends and family gather to celebrate Barry’s life, visitation will take place at St. David Lutheran Church on Sunday, February 23, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM. A service will follow at 2:00 PM, allowing everyone a chance to pay their respects and share fond memories. After the ceremony, Barry will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.
