Lexington PD Seeks Public Assistance to Identify Big Time Best Buy Shoplifter

On May 7, 2024, an unknown suspect allegedly shoplifted a total of $6,469.79 worth of computer parts from a Best Buy outlet, prompting the local police to call for public aid in identifying the culprit.

According to Detective Arrington from the Lexington Police Department, the shoplifter brazenly entered the Best Buy outlet located at 5135 Sunset Boulevard around mid-day. Displaying an unusual level of audacity, the suspect forced open a locked display cabinet, successfully bagging computer components without attracting immediate attention.
From the video footage secured from the store’s security cameras, it appears the suspect skillfully concealed the stolen items on his person before calmly exiting the store premises without making a purchase, thus triggering the suspicion of the store’s security staff. However, upon investigation, the loss incurred was substantial, amounting to more than six thousand dollars.
