The Cayce Fire Department is hosting Save a Life Day on March 16, 2024, at Granby Gardens Park (located at 1800 12th Street.) This new initiative will combine important safety opportunities, like CPR and basic first aid, with fun for the whole family! The event will kick off at 11:00 am and end at 2:00 pm.
Cayce Fire Chief, Steven Bullard, stated, “Save a Life Day will be a fun event for the whole community! Our Cayce Firefighters are also excited to share life-saving techniques with our residents. The event will include raising awareness about something that we see too often: opioid overdose.”
A report from the Lexington County Coroner listed 126 opioid-related overdose deaths for Lexington County in 2022. “This number is staggering and on the rise. As a department, we want to take every step we can to prevent opioid-related drug overdoses,” Chief Bullard continued.
