The 5th annual car show held by the men’s ministry of Chapin Baptist Church took place on April 20, bringing car enthusiasts of all ages together for a day of fun and community spirit. The event, which was free to attend, offered a variety of activities and attractions for both participants and spectators.
The church organized the car show with the intention of creating a welcoming environment where generations could come together and share their love for automobiles. In addition to showcasing classic and modern cars from different eras, the event featured live music, complimentary hotdogs, homemade chicken bog, and refreshments for all attendees.
All makes and models of cars, ranging from vintage classics to contemporary vehicles, were eligible to participate in the show. To recognize the diverse range of automobiles on display, the organizers awarded trophies in two categories: pre-1990 and post-1990. Winners in each category received first, second, and third place trophies, with additional awards such as people’s choice, participants’ choice, and pastor’s choice also up for grabs.
Wade Bozeman, the visionary behind the annual car show, initiated the event in 2020 as a way to engage young people and bridge generational divides through a shared passion for cars. Inspired by the sight of teenagers congregating at local venues to showcase their vehicles, Bozeman saw an opportunity to create a positive and inclusive space where enthusiasts of all ages could come together.
The success of Chapin Baptist Church’s 5th annual car show underscores the power of community events in fostering connection and camaraderie among residents. By providing a platform for individuals to share their automotive interests and stories, the event not only celebrated the history and diversity of cars but also highlighted the importance of building lasting relationships across generations.
