College, high school fishing tournament going on at Clarks Hill Lake
AUGUSTA, Ga. (HERE NEWS) – The Bassmaster College Series tournament at Clarks Hill Lake is in full swing, with college anglers showcasing their skills on the water. The competition, which saw 243 boats representing colleges and universities from across the country, has been nothing short of exciting.
Anderson Jones Takes the Top Prize
Anderson Jones of Lander University emerged victorious, clinching the top prize with a remarkable two-day total of 43 pounds 15 ounces. His standout performance included an impressive 24-pound bag on the final day, solidifying his lead in the tournament. As the competition heated up, nearly 4,000 pounds of largemouth and spotted bass were weighed in over the course of the event, with all fish being released back into the lake.
2024 Strike King BASSMASTER College Series Lunkers Trail
The 2024 Strike King BASSMASTER College Series Lunkers Trail kicked off its first tournament of the year at Clarks Hill Lake, setting the stage for an action-packed fishing event. The tournament, divided into Legends and Lunkers trails, attracted over 200 anglers eager to showcase their angling prowess.

High School Anglers Gear Up
In addition to the college tournament, a BASSMASTER High School Series event is set to take place at Clarks Hill on February 4th, with an impressive fleet of 250 boats expected to participate. The high school anglers, representing schools from across the nation, are gearing up for a thrilling competition that promises to be full of excitement and talent.
Takeoff and Weigh-Ins
Takeoff and weigh-ins for both the college and high school tournaments will be conducted at Wildwood Park, providing a central hub for all the fishing action. The early morning takeoffs at 7 a.m. will kick off each day’s events, followed by weigh-ins starting at 3 p.m., where the anglers’ catches will be carefully evaluated.
