February has kicked off on a joyful note in Columbia, South Carolina as local organizations announce exciting opportunities to celebrate the month of love. Columbia Animal Services and Lexington County Animal Services are offering special deals for pet adoption. And the state museum is setting the stage with a Valentine’s Day celebration titled “Amore Under the Stars”.
Located on Humane Lane, Columbia Animal Services has unveiled an adoption special that goes throughout this month. Prospective pet parents can adopt a loving fur-ever friend for a mere $14. The shelter stays open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
In conjunction, Lexington County Animal Services is also hosting a unique Valentine’s adoption special for the entire month. All adoption fees have been scaled down to just $5. Every pet adopted from Lexington County Animal Services is guaranteed to be fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. The shelter is accessible for visits on Ball Park Road from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays or from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
For lovers of culture and history, the state museum is hosting a memorable Valentine’s Day event known as “Amore Under the Stars”. The celebration features a delectable spread of food, live music from the talented Cola Jazz and, to top it all off, a mesmerizing laser light show, all enjoyed under a canopy of stars. Adding to the sparkle of the evening, patrons can savour a variety of bubbly drinks from the champagne bar.
The event is set to unfurl on February 14 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are priced at $80 for the public, with a reduced price of $60 for members.
The flurry of activities hosted by local organizations is a testament to Columbia’s bustling community spirit. Both the pet adoption specials and the Valentine’s Day event at the state museum not only provide opportunities for the residents to give and receive love but also contribute to the local causes and institutions. Whether you’re a pet lover or a history and culture enthusiast, Columbia has something to offer for everyone this romantic month.
