Columbia Welcomes New Assistant Coach to USC Women’s Soccer Program
COLUMBIA, SC – The University of South Carolina women’s soccer program has proudly announced the addition of Tanner Osborne as the new assistant coach to head coach Shelley Smith’s staff. A South Carolina native, Tanner Osborne joins the Gamecocks after a successful eight-year stint with the Presbyterian women’s soccer team. During his time with the program, Osborne played a pivotal role in coaching the team back into the Big South Conference tournament in 2019, as well as overseeing significant improvements in win totals and securing multiple players for post-season All-Conference selections.
Aside from his contributions to Presbyterian College, Osborne also served as an assistant coach with the USL II South Carolina United Bantams and the South Carolina Olympic Development Program. His dedication to coaching has seen several of his players reach professional levels, with notable success stories including Bobby Edwards, who signed with FC Cincinnati of the MLS.
