Death of Larry Bruce Stanley

On August 30, 2024, Larry Bruce Stanley Jr., a beloved member of the Lexington, South Carolina community, died after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. His family shared this sad news with deep sympathy, carrying forward his memory filled with love, conviviality, and a deep commitment to his faith and work.

Remembering a Dedicated Family Man

Born on August 27, 1963, in Columbia, South Carolina, Larry was a deeply caring individual who loved his family fiercely. He leaves behind his wife, Keisha Carroll Stanley, his sons, Justin Tyler (Morgan) Munn, and Dalton Ryan (Jodi) Stanley, and a daughter, Cierra Faye Banks. Larry’s joy extended to his grandchildren; Bentley Munn, Presley Munn, and Willow Stanley, who will remember their grandfather as a source of great love and warmth.

In addition to his immediate family, Larry is survived by his sisters, Michelle (Raymond) Kilgore, Tammy Kelly, and Lisa McRae; his brothers, Jerry (Denise) Stewart, and David Meetze; his cherished nephews and nieces; Matthew (Samantha) Kilgore, Triston (Jodi) Kelly, Will Coppersmith, Kaitlyn Stewart, and Anna Coppersmith. His extended family is mourning the loss, but also celebrating the lifetime of memories they shared with Larry.

Faith, Friends, and Fur Babies

Larry found sanctuary and solace in his faith, repeating, “God has got this.” as a testament to his reliance on divine providence.

His weekends were marked with golf games with his friends at Orangeburg Country Club, where he held membership. Regular Friday night dining experiences with friends were etched into his routine, deriving great contentment from companionship. His preference for garnet and black colors to support the Carolina Gamecocks details his unwavering fandom.

Larry’s domestic life was nothing short of joyous, primarily shared with his fur babies, Noah and Stormie. His unique sense of humor not only brought joy to familiar faces but also brightened the days of those unsuspecting strangers who crossed paths with him.

Dedication to the Building Industry

Since his commencement at Builders Wholesale Flooring in 2005, Larry’s contributions to the building industry were significant. Serving most recently as the Branch Manager, Larry will be remembered for his dedicated work ethic, professionalism, and immense influence on the company.

Invitation to Honour Larry’s Memory

Friends and family members are invited to attend a visitation at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC on Monday, September 2, 2024 from 5 pm until 7 pm. The funeral service is scheduled at 3 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at Harvest Church, 4865 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC. Larry requested attendees wear garnet and black, in honor of his fondness for the Carolina Gamecocks.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorial contributions to the Mission Fund at Harvest Church. A floral store has been established for those who wish to send flowers to the family or plant a tree in Larry’s memory.

The loss of Larry Bruce Stanley Jr. is profound. His strength in battling pancreatic cancer, admirable love for his family, fervent faith, and substantial impact on the building industry will long be remembered.
