Brandi Clarkson has opened her front porch as a welcoming space for those who are still without power. It’s a gesture that truly captures the essence of community during tough times.
A Warm Welcome for Hurricane Survivors
Imagine walking into a cozy spot where you can find a warm plate of spaghetti, a place to recharge your devices, and even a comfortable couch to relax on while catching up on your favorite shows. That’s exactly what Clarkson is offering. In addition to the hearty spaghetti, her porch is brimming with snacks, bottled water, cookies, cupcakes, and freshly baked bread. It’s become a little haven for those in need!
A Steady Stream of Gratitude
Over the past two days, about 35 to 40 people have visited her porch, and Clarkson plans to keep this support going throughout the week. “It’s been amazing to see so many people come by,” she said with a smile. “They’ve just been super grateful, and it warms my heart to see the community come together like this.”
Thinking of Everyone, Including the Pets
What sets Clarkson apart is her thoughtful consideration for the furry family members too. She provides water bowls for pets, ensuring that no one feels neglected during this challenging time. “I have a lot of animals myself, and I thought about the people with pets who might be struggling in this heat,” she explained. “I wanted to offer a little relief for everyone.”
From One Power Outage to Helping Hand
Interestingly, Clarkson’s family faced a power outage themselves that lasted about 17 hours. Once they got their power back, she felt compelled to help those still facing difficulties. “Seeing the needs of others made me realize I could do something positive,” she remarked.

Clarkson has created an inviting atmosphere, but she isn’t doing this alone. Many community members have pitched in and offered to help—some even volunteered to bring more pasta! However, she currently has enough spaghetti to go around. Reflecting on the experience, Clarkson shared, “If more people in the neighborhood have the chance to do something like this, I think it’s truly wonderful. It’s all about treating people how you’d want to be treated. I would have appreciated this a lot if I were in their shoes.”
