Columbia Crowns Its Cutest Cat: Meet Diego!

Hey there, Columbia! We have some delightful news to share that will surely bring a smile to your face. After an exciting and heartwarming voting process, our beloved city has declared the winner of the very first Cutest Cat in Columbia poll, and it’s none other than the charming Diego, a playful 1-year-old orange and white furball!

The Paw-some Polling Process

Diego stood out among a group of 38 adorable contenders who were all vying for this coveted title. It was a multi-day voting extravaganza that engaged many local cat lovers, though only subscribers were allowed to cast their votes. The competition was fierce, especially in the final round where Diego truly shined. He emerged as a clear victor with an impressive 724 votes, accounting for a whopping 68% of the total 1,061 votes cast. His closest rival, Pepper, managed to snag 260 votes, with Dora and Ashlee trailing behind.

Meet Diego

Now, let’s take a closer look at our fluffy champion! Diego didn’t just stumble into his title; his journey started with a family bond. His owner, Khyra Taylor, shared that Diego came from a litter of kittens cared for by her mother. The plan was to temporarily kitten-sit them while looking for permanent homes, but as soon as Diego and his sibling arrived, they captured the hearts of the Taylor family, making them their forever home.

“We love him so much,” Taylor wrote fondly. “He’s always the first to greet us in the morning, and he doesn’t let a day go by without having play and cuddle time.” Doesn’t that just warm your heart?

Diego’s Fun-Filled Days

When Diego isn’t busy winning hearts and polls, he’s living his best life filled with fun and relaxation. He has a discerning taste for food, favoring chicken, salmon, and tuna – obviously a cat with fine dining preferences! Diego enjoys most of his time nestled inside, playing with his favorite sparkle and catnip balls, but he doesn’t shy away from outdoor adventures. On sunny days, you might catch him lounging in his play tent, enjoying the fresh air.

Celebration in Order!

Now that Diego has claimed the title, a celebration is definitely in order! Khyra and her family are planning a “Cutie PAW-Tootie” party just for him, filled with exciting toys and his favorite crunchy and lickable treats. This will be a purr-fect way to honor their adorable kitty and enjoy some quality family time together.

Join the Fun!

So, there you have it, Columbia! Diego, the cutest cat, has won our hearts and the title through his awesomely charming personality and those irresistible looks. If you happen to spot this furry champion wandering around the neighborhood, be sure to say hi and join in on the excitement. Who knows, he may just treat you to one of his signature cuddles!
