Lexington is really buzzing lately! Over the past few years, this charming town has witnessed some fantastic growth, especially along the Main Street corridor, which has welcomed a slew of new restaurants, bars, boutiques, and other attractions. And guess what? There’s even more on the way! A major highlight is the Icehouse Amphitheater that draws thousands of visitors each year, showcasing a variety of concerts, movies, markets, and much more.
Just when you thought downtown Lexington couldn’t get any more fun, a brand new barbershop has opened its doors! Circa Barbershop, which started its journey in Columbia back in 2014, has expanded and now has a new location at 101-B E. Main St. It launched on October 1, and let me tell you, it’s certainly adding to the excitement of the area.
Situated right behind Craig Reagin Clothiers and across the parking lot from Cribb’s Sandwich & Sweet Shop, this new spot couldn’t be more perfectly located! The Icehouse Amphitheater is not too far away either, making it a great pitstop for anyone enjoying a day out.
The brain behind the Lexington Circa is none other than Halie Holland. At just 28 years old, Halie has been with Circa for five years and has worked at various locations. Taking on this new venture is a thrilling—and slightly daunting—experience for her. “It’s definitely a big leap,” Halie mentioned, “but I’m thankful I have my whole team.” The support system is strong at Circa, and she feels the camaraderie makes the challenges much easier to tackle.
Currently, the Lexington Circa has two barbers and plans to welcome four more along with a rotating barber soon. If you’re thinking about getting a fresh haircut, Halie recommends making a reservation through the Circa website to secure your spot. It’s good to get ahead of the game!
Circa Barbershop has made quite a name for itself in South Carolina, with locations in Columbia, Greenville, Travelers Rest, Charleston, and even as far as Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It’s no wonder they have had their sights set on Lexington for almost two years now. DR Granger, the founder of Circa, expressed how they’d been searching for the right spot to partner with Halie, and they finally found it!
One exciting aspect of the new Circa Barbershop is how shoppers can easily pop next door to Craig Reagin Clothiers for a little retail therapy. Just to the right when you enter Circa, you’ll discover an entrance to the clothing store. Halie believes that “upscale men’s grooming and upscale men’s clothing go hand-in-hand” and that clients can easily look their best from head to toe.
The building at 101 E. Main St. isn’t just any building; it’s rich in history! Dating back to 1919, it has always been a vital part of the community at the intersection of Main and Church streets. Renovation work was done by Chapin Commercial Construction, who transformed the entire space into a modern barbershop while maintaining its historical charm. Founder Chad Lindler expressed great pride in contributing to the revitalization of downtown Lexington through this exciting project.
But wait, there’s more! The buzz along the Lexington Main Street corridor isn’t just about Circa. Just recently, the fantastic Latin and Asian fusion restaurant TakoSushi opened nearby, and another exciting addition—a location of Voodoo Brewing—is on the way! Plus, a modern steakhouse is in the works, thanks to a trio of local restaurateurs who will be taking over the spot where Alodia’s used to be.
Downtown Lexington is really the place to be! With so many new businesses and opportunities, it seems like there’s never a dull moment here. Whether you’re in need of a fabulous haircut or just looking to enjoy the lively downtown atmosphere, this is the place to be. So why not stop by Circa Barbershop and make your next appointment? You won’t regret it!
