The Commission on Higher Education made the announcement on Monday, stating that Dr. Gregory Little will be taking on the role of Acting President and Executive Director. The Commission expressed their anticipation of working with Dr. Little during this crucial transition period.
Dr. Rusty Monhollon, the previous President and Director, retired in January 2024 after serving since 2019. The reason for Monhollon’s retirement has not been disclosed by the CHE in any official statements.
Dr. Gregory Little is described by the CHE as a seasoned educator with extensive experience. He has held positions such as superintendent for Mount Airy City Schools in North Carolina and Lexington County School District One. Additionally, he served as the Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation for the South Carolina Technical College System.
Dr. Gregory Little officially assumes his role as Acting President and Executive Director of the Commission on Higher Education starting on Monday, March 4.
