Excitement Buzzes in West Columbia for the 2nd Annual Meeting Street Music Fest

Get ready, West Columbia! The 2nd annual Meeting Street Music Fest is just around the corner, and it’s shaping up to be another unforgettable weekend! This beloved event will take place on Friday and Saturday, September 6 and 7, and it promises two days packed with music, food, and fun.

What to Expect

If you’re a music lover, this is your perfect chance to soak in a variety of genres while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The festival kicks off Friday at 6 p.m. at the West Columbia Amphitheater, located at 109 Alexander Road. You can expect an array of live performances, delicious eats from food trucks, and refreshing drinks, including beer and wine available for purchase.

We’ve got some fantastic acts lined up for Friday night! First off, the Planet Fitness Waterfront Warm-Up will feature Nu-Blu from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. over at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater. Meanwhile, at the Savage Craft Ale Works Stage, enjoy the tunes of The Gaspumpers from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and at Chayz Lounge Stage, catch Jamie Wright and Rod Foster & Company from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. Want to catch some local favorites? Backline will be kicking off their set at Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Parking and Accessibility

Parking is key if you’re driving over to the festivities. A few convenient options for Friday include:

  • Capitol Square – 483 Sunset Blvd, West Columbia
  • Interactive Art Park – 425 Meeting Street, West Columbia (Center Street entrance)
  • Free Public Parking Garage – 310 Court Avenue, West Columbia
  • Carraway Park – 212 Hudson Street, West Columbia

Make sure to note that after the event, there will be designated Uber/Lyft pickup at 109 Alexander Road!

Saturday’s Celebration

The excitement continues on Saturday, starting at 3:00 p.m. The lineup is just as promising:

  • KW Beverage Stage with Seventy Six and Sunny from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., followed by the awe-inspiring Who’s Bad (the ultimate Michael Jackson tribute band) from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. After that, the headliner War takes the stage from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.!
  • At the Sunset Stage, enjoy Mustache Brothers at 3:15 p.m. and Brittany Turnipseed later on, wrapping up with George Fetner and the Strays from 6:40 – 8:00 p.m.
  • The WECO Sign Stage will feature local talent with The McKoy Brothers Band and Willie Wells & The Blue Ridge Mountain Grass.
  • Finally, join the after-party at WECO Bottle & Biergarten for the Sounds of the Seventies Sour Beer Takeover from 8:00 – 11:00 p.m.

More Than Just Music

Not only will there be incredible music, but the festival is packed with activities for everyone. Don’t miss the Meeting Street Artisan Market, Whetzel’s pet zone, and several college football viewing areas. For all the gamers out there, get ready to relive the good old days at the Scratch ‘n Spin’s retro gaming area! Plus, there will be cooling stations, a photo booth, and free water to help everyone stay refreshed.

What to Bring

As you prepare for your festival adventure, make sure to pack a few essentials like folding chairs or a blanket for comfort, identification, cash and card for purchases, as well as sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. Trust us; you’re going to want to stay sun-kissed but not burnt!
