Exciting Holiday Updates and City Hall Closures for West Columbia Residents

Exciting Holiday Updates for West Columbia Residents!

Hey there, West Columbia! Can you feel that festive spirit in the air? The holiday season is just around the corner, and our beloved City Hall has some important news to share with all of you. As we prepare for Christmas and New Year celebrations, here’s what you need to know!

City Hall Closures for the Holidays

First things first, mark your calendars! City Hall will close its doors for Christmas on Wednesday and Thursday, December 25–26, 2024. Regular business hours will be back in action on Friday, December 27. That’s right, folks! You’ll have to wait just a little while to take care of any city-related business, but the good news is you’ll have time to bask in those holiday vibes!

And if you’re already checking your calendars for the New Year celebration, you’ll want to note that City Hall will also be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, for New Year’s Day. Regular business hours will resume the next day, on Thursday, January 2. Let’s welcome 2025 together after some well-deserved time off!

Sanitation Schedule Adjustments

Thursday, December 26, don’t worry! Those routes will be collected on Friday, December 27 instead. Just make sure your bins are out and ready to go for a successful pick-up!

However, a little heads up – there will be no yard trash collection on that same Friday. So, if you’ve been stacking your yard waste for the holidays, you’ll have to hold tight until the following week when normal services resume. And remember, for New Year’s Day on Wednesday, January 1, yard trash collection won’t be happening either!

Stay Connected and Informed

For more updates and information related to sanitation, check out the city’s official website or get the WeCo Info app for real-time notifications. You can find everything you need to know right at your fingertips!

Fireworks Regulations for New Year’s Eve

9:00 a.m. on December 31, and they need to be wrapped up by 1:30 a.m. on January 1. So, plan your celebrations accordingly!

As we wrap up another year, let’s celebrate safely and responsibly. And as always, make sure to check on your neighbors, especially those who might need a little extra cheer during the holidays!

Wishing You a Happy Holiday Season!

In closing, the City of West Columbia wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday season. Enjoy the festivities, the laughter, and the joy of being with friends and family. Here’s to wrapping up 2024 and stepping into 2025 with hope and happiness!

Stay safe, West Columbia! See you in the New Year!
