Exciting New Housing Development Set to Transform Columbia's Bull Street District

Exciting New Development Coming to Columbia’s Bull Street District!

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Wouldn’t it be great to have more housing options in our lovely Bull Street district? Well, guess what? A new project is on the horizon that’s sure to bring a buzz of excitement to residents and future movers alike! The project, dubbed ‘Midtown at BullStreet’, is expected to add over 700 new housing units to the area. It seems like our neighbors are making a solid effort to address the growing need for housing options in Columbia.

What Can Residents Expect?

At a recent meeting, the owner and developer, Kevin Connelly, dished out some fantastic updates on this development. Connelly, who leads Connelly Builders and Connelly Development, is happy to report that they are making strides on the housing segment of the project. “The total development cost is approximately $27 million,” he noted, adding that while some unavoidable delays have pushed back the timeline a bit, they’re still on track. According to him, we can expect the townhomes to welcome their first residents by late December of this year, while the larger apartment units are slated for completion around late April of 2025.

A Community for Everyone

Once all is said and done, the Midtown development is poised to house more than 1,000 residents in a variety of comfy units. But wait, there’s more! This isn’t just about the roofs over our heads; it’s about creating a thriving community. The development will boast a range of fabulous amenities, including a cozy community room, an exercise facility to work off those holiday cookies, a library for your reading pleasure, a computer center for tech lovers, a playground for the kids to have some fun, and a charming gazebo to enjoy the great outdoors.

Why the Buzz?

The excitement doesn’t stop there! Connelly believes that the demand for these units will skyrocket. “The property will fill up very quickly. Typically, whenever we go to market with a community like this, it’ll lease up in just three months,” he confidently shared. Sounds promising, right? This development is all about catering to the diverse needs of the community. Residents will find a mix of housing types, including affordable rentals, townhomes available for sale, and even options for senior living.

Addressing the Housing Crunch

Connelly made an essential point when he said, “There’s a real need for housing in this community, and not just any housing, but a variety of types that can meet different needs.” It’s a breath of fresh air to see someone taking the time to ensure everyone has a place to call home. Moreover, plans are already in motion for adding even more options, such as student housing, which could become a game-changer for the area.

How to Get Involved

For those eagerly waiting to apply for housing at Midtown at BullStreet, you’re in luck! You can find all the needed details and application procedures on the project’s website. This is your chance to be part of something special.

With all that’s happening, it’s clear that Columbia’s Bull Street district is on the rise! So keep your eyes peeled; there’s definitely a lot more to come! Whether you’re a long-time resident or are looking to make a move, this upcoming project promises to add a vibrant touch to our beloved community.
