Gilbert, SC Community Urged to Help Catch Suspects in Unusual Law Enforcement Training Center Break-In

Gilbert, SC 10/28/2024 – Something unusual has happened in our friendly little town! The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is reaching out to the community for help in a rather surprising incident that took place recently. It seems that some misguided individuals decided it would be a good idea to break into the SC Law Enforcement Division’s Training Center right on Main Street here in Gilbert!

What Happened?

It’s hard to wrap your head around the fact that someone would break into a facility run by the state’s top law enforcement agency. But here we are! We might think this is the stuff of movies, but unfortunately, it’s real life in our own backyard. The break-in is certainly raising eyebrows and a few chuckles as it sounds almost too wild to be true.

Red Flags and Clues

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has shared that the quality of the surveillance photos taken during the incident is not the best. These suspects apparently had no regard for the high-security environment they were entering. Since they weren’t wearing disguises, it gives us a chance to assist in this investigation!

If you’re out and about in the Gilbert area or live nearby, keep your eyes peeled! The Sheriff’s Department is asking that anyone who might have seen anything unusual or who can recognize any details about the suspects to step forward.
