Well, Lexington residents, are you ready to make a splash? A brand new business is gearing up to take the plunge in our community! Goldfish Swim School, an exciting learn-to-swim program that has made quite a splash across the United States, is making its way to the Lexington Towne Centre at 932 N. Lake Drive, situated near Sunset Boulevard.
The Lexington Towne Centre is already a hub of activity with all sorts of popular stores and restaurants, and now it’ll welcome Goldfish Swim School, which has confirmed its presence via a cheeky “coming soon” notice on its official website. During a recent stroll through the center, a reporter spotted a building permit taped to the window, confirming that preparations are well underway. It’s also listed as “under construction” in the local planning and zoning documents, so you can bet something exciting is in the works!
For those curious about the space, let’s talk location! Goldfish Swim School will be moving into a storefront that once housed a Tuesday Morning store. If you’re planning on enjoying some trampoline fun, you’ll also find Goldfish right next door to the recently opened Big Air trampoline park.
Founded back in 2006 in Michigan, Goldfish Swim School has made quite a name for itself, with over 150 locations splashing across the U.S. It specializes in teaching infants and children—from as young as 4 months old up to 12 years old—the importance of swimming skills in a fun and safe environment. Imagine your little ones learning to navigate the waters while having a blast!
Excitingly, this will be the first Goldfish location in the Midlands, with the only other facility in South Carolina being located on Haywood Road in Greenville. It’s great news for families in our area who are looking for swim lessons without having to travel too far.
As if a new swim school wasn’t enough to get excited about, the Lexington Towne Centre provides a fantastic setting for this venture. This shopping complex is home to some familiar faces, including Food Lion, Books-A-Million, Hibbett Sports, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Jimmy John’s, and Hotworx, among others. It’s located right at the intersection of two major roads, making it super easy for residents to drop by. Did you know that nearly 37,000 cars travel down Sunset Boulevard each day? And don’t forget about 19,000 cars traveling on North Lake Drive!
While the anticipation builds, there’s no official opening date announced just yet. But don’t worry; we’ll be keeping an eye out for any announcements. As the construction progresses, we’ll surely be hearing more about those first swim classes!
For families in Lexington, the addition of Goldfish Swim School is exciting because it offers a wonderful opportunity for children to become safe and confident swimmers in a dedicated setting. With swim safety being so crucial, especially in our sunny South Carolina waters, this new venture is bound to make a big difference.
So, keep your eyes peeled and your swimming trunks ready, Lexington! Goldfish Swim School will be making waves in our community before we know it!
