Hannah Richardson Returns to Lexington, Signs with Lexington SC

An Exciting Return

In Lexington, Kentucky, one of the City’s local stars is making her grand return. Hannah Richardson, known for her exceptional performance for the University of Kentucky’s women’s soccer team from 2019 to 2022, is coming back to Lexington once again, this time to continue her professional soccer career in a new light.

Signs with Lexington Sporting Club

It was proudly announced by the club earlier this week that Hannah Richardson has agreed to become a valuable part of the Lexington Sporting Club’s inaugural USL Super League roster. The team’s exciting first season is set to kick off later this August, marking a new chapter for local soccer in Lexington.

Anxious Anticipation

“I’m excited to be back in the city of Lexington,” Richardson eagerly shared in a recent Lexington SC news release. Reflecting on her roots, she went on to explain that “From playing soccer at UK and graduating here, Lexington has always meant a lot to me. I feel blessed to be a part of this inaugural season and paving the way for young girls to be inspired to chase their dreams!”

Richardson’s Glorious Past

During her four-year tenure at Kentucky, Richardson amassed an impressive track record of 22 goals and 14 assists, while starting in 56 out of 62 total appearances. Hailing from Bartlett, Illinois, the talented forward capped off her college career in 2022, starting every single game for the Wildcats and leading the team with nine assists. This career-high record placed her third in the competitive Southeastern Conference.

She cemented her legacy with two eight-goal seasons and was recognized as part of the SEC All-Freshmen Team during her first year. She wrapped up her academic journey at the University with a bachelor’s degree in communication and was a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection.

Continuing Success Abroad

Following her successful college career, Richardson decided to test her skills overseas. In the recent season, she represented the top-flight HB Koge club in Denmark, helping the team secure a commendable third-place finish in Denmark’s Elitedivision.

Looking Ahead

With her return, all eyes will surely be on Richardson as she embarks on this new journey with the Lexington Sporting Club. The buzz around her return signifies the anticipation and excitement of the fans and the entire community. Make sure to follow the latest updates and news on this exciting phase of Hannah’s career.
