Lexington Mourns the Passing of Jacob Allen Shealy
A Beloved Father, Grandfather, and Debicated Citizen
Jacob Allen Shealy, affectionately known as Jake, drew his last breath on July 24, 2024, at the ripe age of 79. Born on September 5, 1944, in Lexington, South Carolina, Jake was more than a respected member of the community; he was a cherished figure deeply embedded in the hearts of all who knew him.
An Exemplary Professional Life
As an accomplished Electrical Contractor, Jacob made significant contributions to the local economy through his family business, Shealy and Sons Electric. His professional life was distinguished by an unwavering commitment to service and excellence. He was known for generously passing on his wealth of knowledge to his sons, both of whom embraced their father’s trade and opted for careers as electrical engineers.
Military Service with Honor
Beyond his professional commitments, Jacob was a proud veteran of the US Navy where he honorably served for four years. His service allowed him to impact his community positively and represents his commitment to his nation.
Cherishing Simple Pleasures Of Life
Outside of his professional and military service, Jacob was an avid fisherman and hunter. He found pure joy in the simple pleasures of life, fostering a deep connection with nature. These passions were not confined to himself. On the contrary, he willingly shared his love for these hobbies with his loved ones, making them an integral part of his legacy.
Remembering a Life Well-lived
Jacob is survived by his sons, Simon Shealy (Lisa) and Stacy Shealy (Renay); grandchildren, Ryann, Kamryn, and Brennan Shealy; his brother, Jimmy Shealy (Katrina); and sisters, Lynette Steele and Lisa Tyson (Joel). He leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanier and Mae Shealy. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, George Steele.
Farewell Services
In honor of Jacob’s life, a visitation is scheduled for Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 3:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, Lexington, South Carolina, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm. The burial ceremony will take place after the funeral service in the church cemetery. The services are under the direction of Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium (Lexington).
Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jacob are welcome to attend and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, it was Jacob’s wishes to have trees planted in his memory. Information for the memorial foundation will be found in our floral store.
Jacob’s Memory Lives On
The unfortunate passing of Jacob has left a deep void in the hearts of many. However, his memory continues to inspire and guide those left behind. His life, filled with dedication, love, and service, leaves an enduring legacy.
