Born in Lexington, South Carolina, on September 5, 1944, Jake lived a purposeful life of service, both to his nation and his community. He was remembered as a generous man who cherished time spent with his family and loved ones.
Dedication to Family and Craft
Jacob was not only an affectionate father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, but he also built a reputation as a skilled Electrical Contractor who lent his life to the family business, Shealy and Sons Electric. A meticulous craftsman who espoused excellence in his work, Shealy left an indelible legacy, inspiring his sons to pursue careers as electrical engineers. His life was permeated by an unwavering love for his family, serving as the pillar for his lifelong vitality.
Serving the Nation
Established in his commitment to duty and service, Jacob served four years in the proudly blue-collar US Navy. His service to the nation reflected the deep sense of responsibility and commitment that became the signature of his life. He emerged from the Navy with unshakable discipline and bravery that he carried throughout his life.
Passionate Fisherman and Hunter
Besides his professional commitments, Jacob’s zest for life shone through in his hobbies. He ardently involved himself in fishing and hunting, often sharing these moments with his family and friends. Jake’s ability to find happiness in the simplest pleasures enriched those around him and created a tapestry of shared memories.
Jacob Shealy’s Legacy and Loved Ones
Jacob’s light continues to illuminate through his surviving family: his sons, Simon (Lisa) and Stacy Shealy (Renay), grandchildren Ryann, Kamryn, and Brennan Shealy, his brother Jimmy Shealy (Katrina), and sisters Lynette Steele and Lisa Tyson (Joel); along with several nieces and nephews. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Lanier and Mae Shealy, and his brother-in-law, George Steele.
The Final Salute
The community will pay their final respects to Jacob Allen Shealy at St. James Lutheran Church, Lexington, where visitation is scheduled on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 3:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
All services are organized under the competent guidance of Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium (Lexington). Those wishing to pay tribute to Jacob’s life may choose to send flowers to his family or plant a tree in his memory at the funeral service.
