Decades-long Lexington resident, respected electrical contractor and honored veteran, Jacob Allen Shealy, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 79.
Born With A Servant’s Heart
Born on September 5, 1944, in Lexington, South Carolina, Jacob, affectionately known as Jake, was a cornerstone of his family and loved immensely by his children, grandchildren, and siblings. His deeply rooted family values shined through his life, making him a cherished figure in the lives of his loved ones.
A Life of Service
Jacob was a revered figure in the Electrical Contracting field, thanks to his unwavering commitment to excellence and professionalism. He dedicated his working career to Shealy and Sons Electric, a family business that thrived under his steadfast leadership. He was an influential mentor, instilling his wealth of knowledge in his sons who followed in his footsteps and pursued careers as electrical engineers.
Beyond his professional commitments, Jacob took great pride in his four years of service in the US Navy, reflecting his reverence for duty and responsibility.
Passionate About Everyday Pleasures
In his personal life, Jacob was an ardent fisherman and hunter. His love for the simplicity and beauty of life was evident in his hobbies, which he generously shared with his loved ones, creating countless memories engraved in their hearts.
Loving Family Left Behind
Jacob is survived by his pillars of strength, his sons, Simon Shealy (Lisa) and Stacy Shealy (Renay), and his adored grandchildren Ryann, Kamryn, and Brennan Shealy. He also leaves behind his brother, Jimmy Shealy (Katrina), sisters Lynette Steele and Lisa Tyson (Joel), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanier and Mae Shealy and his brother-in-law, George Steele.
A Final Farewell
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 3:00 pm at St. James Lutheran Church, Lexington, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm. The service will be sealed with his burial at the church cemetery immediately after. The arrangements have been trusted to Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium(Lexington).
