Beloved Lexington Resident and Renowned Electrical Contractor, Jacob Allen Shealy, Passes Away at 79

Obituary Notice: Jacob Allen Shealy (1944-2024)

In Lexington, South Carolina, a beloved figure and devoted family man, Jacob Allen Shealy, passed away on July 24, 2024, at the age of 79. He was well-known and cherished in his community for his unwavering commitment to his family and his contributions as an electrical contractor.

A Life Well-Lived

Jacob, also known as Jake, was born on September 5, 1944, in Lexington, South Carolina. He cherished his family greatly and was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was known for his deeply rooted family values that were reflected clearly in his love for his children, grandchildren, and siblings.

Jacob’s career was spent in the family business, Shealy and Sons Electric where he made a mark as an accomplished Electrical Contractor. His meticulous work approach demonstrated a commitment to excellence and he endeavored to imbue his knowledge and skills within his sons, both of whom chose careers as electrical engineers.

A Man of Service

He served honorably in the US Navy for four years, demonstrating his patriotism. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was an avid fisherman and hunter, deriving joy from the simple pleasures of life. He often shared his passions and hobbies with his loved ones.

Surviving Members

Jacob is survived by his sons, Simon Shealy (Lisa) and Stacy Shealy (Renay); grandchildren, Ryann, Kamryn, and Brennan Shealy; brother, Jimmy Shealy (Katrina); sisters, Lynette Steele and Lisa Tyson (Joel); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, Lanier and Mae Shealy, as well as his brother-in-law, George Steele, preceded him in death.

Funeral Service Information

A visitation has been organized for Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 3:00pm at St. James Lutheran Church, Lexington, with a funeral service to follow at 4:00pm. Burial will take place following the service in the church cemetery. All ceremonies are under the supervision of Barr-Price Funeral Homes & Crematorium (Lexington).

To commemorate Jacob’s life, friends and family are invited to send flowers or plant a tree in his memory.
