Lexington County Launches Community Survey to Gather Resident Feedback

Lexington County Wants Your Voice: Fill Out the New Community Survey!

Hey there, folks in Lexington, S.C.! If you’ve been itching to share your thoughts about what needs improving in our lovely town, now is your chance! Earlier this month, the county kicked off an initiative known as the County-Wide Citizen Engagement Study, and they’re looking for your feedback through a brand-new survey.

Why Participate?

This survey isn’t just for show; it’s a way for the county to discover what residents like you deem as important—especially when it comes to public services and how tax dollars are spent. The county wants to hear your voice! Whether it’s about the roads, public safety, or community services, this is your opportunity to shine a light on what matters most in our hometown!

What Are Residents Saying?

Residents are already buzzing with excitement about the survey. When chatting with some locals, many voiced similar concerns about potholes and the need for better amenities. Take Vivian Pate, for example. She highlighted the crumbling condition of the roads, especially on Hermitage Road. “There are potholes everywhere!” she exclaimed. “And don’t get me started on animal services; we need a larger building to help accommodate more animals.” It’s clear that improvements are on the minds of many.

A Positive Spin!

On the flip side of the conversation, we have residents like Marcie Leaphart, who believe that things are looking pretty good in Lexington County overall. “I think they’re doing a pretty good job,” she mentioned, signaling that while there’s always room for improvement, the county’s efforts haven’t gone unnoticed!

Focusing on the Fundamentals

Many residents showed a unified desire for the county to focus on upgrading roads. Noted local Travis Cooper mentioned how South Carolina has made strides in investing in infrastructure and hopes that Lexington doesn’t slow down. “With all the new residents coming in, it’d be great to see our roads improve to accommodate everyone. Oh! And let’s not forget our police force and first responders; they deserve support too!” he added.

Even Kids Have Opinions!

It seems even the younger generation is getting in on the action! Landon Laskis, a young resident, stated his desires plainly: “Better roads and more ambulances.” It’s evident that the call for action spans across all ages!

Survey Details

If you want to make your voice heard, the survey asks several questions to gather your insights. You’ll rate the county’s public services, share how often you visit places like the library or animal services, and even weigh in on whether you’d support a proposed capital project sales tax referendum specifically for roads. They’ll be looking for your zip code, whether you own or rent, and the size of your household too.

Time’s a-Ticking!

So, what are you waiting for? You have until Friday, December 20, 2024, to make your opinion count! Your feedback could help shape the future of our community—don’t miss out on this chance to be a part of something that matters!

Click here to fill out the survey and let your voice be heard. After all, Lexington County is your home, and together we can build a better community!
