Lexington County Extends Debris Site Hours This Weekend

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. – Hey, Lexington County residents! If you’ve been looking to clean up your yard or get rid of some debris, we’ve got some good news for you! The county is extending its debris site operation hours through the weekend. So whether you’ve been cleaning out after a storm or just doing some seasonal yard work, it’s the perfect opportunity to drop off your clutter.

Details About the Debris Site

The Ball Park Road debris site will be open on Saturday, October 5, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, October 6 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. So grab those fallen branches, overgrown bushes, or old outdoor furniture and make a trip while the doors are wide open!

Who Can Use This Site?

Now, there’s an important detail to remember: this site is specifically for private Lexington County residents. That means if you live in the area, you’re welcome to use it. However, if you own a business or have commercial materials to dispose of, you’ll need to head straight to the Edmund Landfill located at 429 Landfill Lane. The landfill is open from Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. So indeed, if you’re a business owner or have larger commercial items, make your plans accordingly!

Why is This Important?

These extended hours offer a fantastic chance for everyone to keep our community looking tidy and safe. Properly disposing of debris helps to prevent potential hazards in the community, especially after storms or heavy rains that might have left things scattered around. It’s easy to let those small piles of waste build up, so taking a little time this weekend to dispose of them could make all the difference.

Remember the Guidelines

As you make your way to the Ball Park Road site this weekend, keep in mind there are some guidelines you should follow. Make sure the debris you’re dropping off is from your own home and not from commercial work. It’s crucial for maintaining the accessibility and efficiency of the site for everyone. Please also respect the staff working there and follow any posted rules.

Your Community, Your Responsibility

Taking part in these cleanup efforts not only benefits you but also contributes positively to the entire Lexington community. A well-maintained neighborhood is something we can all appreciate. Think of it as a weekend project that helps keep your property looking great and our county in top shape. Plus, you may even bump into some friendly neighbors while you’re there, all working towards a common goal!

Mark Your Calendars!

So, mark your calendars and set a reminder for this weekend! Let’s all take advantage of the extended hours at the Ball Park Road debris site. Bring your debris, work together, and let’s keep Lexington County looking its best. We are all in this together, and every little effort counts!
