As summer rolls along, Lexington County continues to provide the community an array of exhilarating events. Exciting activities ranging from grueling battlefield visits to soothing musical concerts have been meticulously planned throughout the week starting July 4th. For those planning to stay put or play, we have Lexington to thank for organizing a host of city events
The Nashville Nights concert series continues at Steel Hands Brewing this Friday, as talented artist Channing Wilson graces the event with his full-tilt country songs. Accompanied by a local opener, the concert starts at 6 pm, with Channing’s host, Michael Haney. Following suit, Retro 78 will perform at Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The 12,000 Year History Park in Lexington County will offer a Civil War walking tour. Participants will walk through the battlefield and earthworks, learning about the strategies and tactics used during The Battle of Congaree Creek. Meanwhile, music lovers can enjoy a mesmerising mix of pop melodies and rock influence from the band Prettier Than Matt at Savage Craft Ale Works. In addition, Tuscan song legend Eugene Genay Williams will be performing classic R&B at O’Hara’s Public House.
The Lexington Main Library has invited midland’s amateur sleuths for Monday Night Murder, a murder mystery game night. Contestants will role-play as cold-case detectives to solve murder cases while they snack on cookies. The event is scheduled to run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Hazelwood Brewing Company hosts its weekly tradition of Music Bingo, promising a fun night of music and games for participants. To win, contestants must mark off five songs and artists in a row on their bingo card.
Rock music fans can enjoy an authentic experience with Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience at The Icehouse Amphitheater and a jazz concert, dubbed “The Sax Experience” at Chayz Lounge. The week of events will be wrapped up with a visit to the Meeting Street Artisan Market and Saluda Shoals Park’s mid-summer firing of holiday lights.
Other upcoming events across the county line include “Anime Rave” at The New Brookland Tavern, “Aiken Music Festival” at the Highfields Event Center, and “Ridge Spring Farmer’s Market” at Ridge Spring Plaza.
