Heavy Fire Decimates Lexington County Home

In a startling incident, a house in Lexington County, South Carolina underwent severe destruction due to a raging fire that engulfed it in the early hours of Friday. Firefighters from Little Mountain Fire Department (LMFD) were among the first to respond to the scene alongside other local units.

Immediate Response from Fire Departments

The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. at a two-story house situated on Smallwood Drive. County officials reported the event, noting the heavy fire throughout the home. LMFD worked jointly with Fairview O’Neal Fire Department and Pomaria Fire Department and Rescue Squad in providing water for units battling the severe blaze on scene.

House Condemed as Total Loss

Intriguingly, there were no occupants residing in the house as it was under renovation before people were due to move in. As a result, no injuries or fatalities were reported in the incident. However, the fire was so severe that it led to the complete destruction of the house, marking it as a total loss.

Firefighters and emergency teams from Irmo, Columbia and Newberry County also joined in, providing much needed assistance in managing the daunting incident. The collective effort managed to eventually douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to the neighboring properties.
