Lexington County narcotics agents have made a significant bust in Leesville, South Carolina, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of a large quantity of drugs, cash, and firearms.
The suspects involved are Arromus Abney, 33, and Miranda Lloyd, 26. Abney is facing charges of trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Lloyd, on the other hand, has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, receiving stolen goods, and unlawfully placing a child at risk of harm.
Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon reported that the narcotics agents had conducted controlled purchases of meth from both Abney and Lloyd, leading to the issuance of a search warrant for their residence. The subsequent execution of the search warrant resulted in the discovery of over six pounds of marijuana, eight grams of meth, 10 firearms, drug distribution equipment, and more than $12,000 in cash.
During the search, it was revealed that one of the firearms found at the residence had been reported stolen in Lexington County, adding a new dimension to the investigation.
Following their arrest, Abney and Lloyd were taken into custody at the Lexington County Detention Center. However, they have since been released after meeting the conditions of their bond.
As the case unfolds, the authorities will continue to investigate the source and distribution network of the seized drugs, as well as the origins of the stolen firearm found at the scene.
The successful operation by Lexington County narcotics agents highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the area. By targeting individuals involved in the distribution of illicit substances, law enforcement aims to improve the safety and well-being of the community.
