Hey there, Lexington! We have a bit of a situation that needs our community’s eyes and ears. On July 31, 2024, something fishy happened at the Burlington Coat Factory in town. Police are on the hunt for two guys who attempted to make off with over $1,800 worth of merchandise!
What Went Down?
According to the investigators with the Lexington Police Department, these two characters had a plan. They walked into the store and loaded up a piece of rolling luggage with all sorts of goodies. It seems they thought they could simply stroll out with their haul, but—surprise!—store management caught wind of their shenanigans. When approached by the staff, these would-be thieves got a bit spooked and decided it was best to leave the rolling luggage behind and make a quick getaway.
Fleeing the Scene
And flee they did! They hopped into a light-colored Toyota Camry and sped off, leaving the evidence behind. Classic case of “not thinking it through,” right?
