LEXINGTON, S.C. (HERE NEWS) – A Lexington High student has received a scholarship and internship offer from Amazon to pursue an undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Camila Rivera de Jesús is one of two students in South Carolina who are among recipients of the 400 Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship.
She will receive a $40,000 scholarship to study computer science or engineering starting this fall and a paid internship at Amazon after her freshman year of college.
Pride and Recognition
“We are so proud of Camila. She is a fabulous student and we know she will go far in life,” said Lexington High School Interim Principal Ann O’Cain.
Rivera de Jesús was chosen based on her academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, future goals, and financial need. School officials say her future plans are to attend and complete the Amazon internship, and then specialize in machine learning, and continue her work in research on the college level.
Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship

This scholarship is part of Amazon’s commitment to investing in the next generation of high-tech leaders. By providing financial assistance and hands-on work experience, Amazon aims to support students like Camila Rivera de Jesús in reaching their full potential in the tech industry.
