A man from Lexington, South Carolina, has been arrested for allegedly making bomb threats against the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) headquarters.
Daquan Ricardo Johnson, aged 33, is facing three counts of threatening to bomb personal property in connection with the incident.
According to an affidavit, Johnson reportedly made three separate calls to SLED’s Special Victims Unit on October 4. During these calls, he allegedly stated, “I will be sending a bomb to blow up SLED,” “I am going to blow up Wellpath,” and “Send a bomb to SLED and kill everybody.”
After investigation, Johnson admitted to making the threats on October 6, confirmed by SLED officials. Following this admission, he was taken into custody and booked at the Lexington County Detention Center.
The 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office will be responsible for prosecuting the case against Johnson, as he faces the serious charges of threatening to bomb personal property.
