Lexington Community Mourns the Loss of Iris Kyzer Snead

A Life Well Lived, A Woman Well Loved

Iris Kyzer Snead, a stalwart member of the Lexington, SC community passed away on August 26, 2024. Born on June 1, 1951, to the late Bryan and Ola Mae Kyzer, the 73-year-old was revered to be a woman spirited and vibrant, touching every life she met with warmth and kindness.

Serving the Healthcare Sector with Distinction

Iris made noteworthy contributions to the healthcare sector as a skilled Ultrasound Tech. Her commitment to her profession was underscored by her passion for providing the best healthcare experience possible to those she served, mirroring her ethos in her daily life.

A Passionate Gardener

Her adoration for flora was notable. Iris delighted in tending to her garden, spending countless hours exploring farmers markets and botanical gardens. She loved all aspects of nature’s bounty and took immense pleasure in beholding the world’s natural beauty.

Sweet Memories Left Behind

Known for her animated and lively nature, she was often the life of any gathering, making her presence a joyous gift that will be greatly missed. Iris held strong family values and was a dutiful mother to her sons Jason and Matthew Snead.

She took immense satisfaction in nurturing her grandchildren, Samuel, Noah, and Brinon. She also leaves behind her brothers, Larry and Derral ‘Dick’ Kyzer, and her sister, Jeanette Harmon. She is now at rest with her predeceased siblings Richard, William ‘Bill’, Carroll Kyzer, Dianne Ramsey, and Loretta Asbill.

A Celebration of Her Life

A memorial service honouring the life of Iris will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the St. James Lutheran Church with a visitation scheduled one hour prior to the service. The Saxet Funeral Home of Lexington is facilitating all arrangements, including a private burial to be held later at the Red Bank Baptist Church.

A Loving Tribute

Family and friends of Iris are encouraged to continue celebrating her life by sharing their favourite memories and photos on Iris’s memorial page. Contributions can be made to honour Iris’s memory through floral tributes or planting a tree in her name which will serve as a lasting tribute to a woman who loved the earth’s natural beauty.

Remembering a Remarkable Woman

The community of Lexington is greatly saddened by the loss of such a vibrant personality. Yet, it is comforting to know that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness, passion, and relentless zest for life. Iris Kyzer Snead will indeed, be missed dearly.
