On Wednesday, January 8, drivers on eastbound Columbia Avenue/US-378 should be prepared for dual lane shifts near King Street. The shifts will happen between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., so if you’re headed that way, keep your eyes peeled and stay alert!

Now, why the lane changes, you ask? Well, it’s all part of some essential maintenance work that includes water line updates and curb replacement. A little inconvenience now will certainly make our roads a lot nicer in the long run.

New Coffee Haven Brewing Soon

510 Columbia Ave, right here in Lexington. A bright sign at the property teases that they are “brewing soon”, and as of Monday morning, construction was already underway at this frothy hotspot.

If you’re not familiar with Canal Coffee, they already have eight locations scattered across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Florida. Locals can find them in cities like Columbia and Irmo, not to mention a convenient stop near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport. With such a high traffic area—a whopping 33,000 vehicles passing daily—this new coffee joint is bound to become a favorite!

But what can you expect from Canal Coffee? Their menu is a coffee lover’s dream, featuring everything from traditional and specialty coffees to delicious seasonal drinks, energy drinks, and even hot breakfast items. Veteran’s Day Parade this Sunday. The festivities kick off at 1:30 p.m., with the parade rolling down at 3:30 p.m.. Make sure to plan accordingly as some roads will be closed during this time.
