Lexington Community Mourns the Loss of Larry Bruce Stanley Jr.

Remembrance of an Esteemed Resident and Cherished Family Man

The close-knit community of Lexington, South Carolina, laments the death of Larry Bruce Stanley, Jr., who passed away on August 30, 2024, after a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer.

A Life Enriched with Love, Laughter, and Devotion

Born on August 27, 1963, in Columbia, SC, Larry was known for his deep care, love, and fierce dedication toward his family. His family was his greatest treasure, and the joyous moments spent together were his most valued. He was survived by his wife, Keisha Carroll Stanley; sons: Justin Tyler (Morgan) Munn of Leesville, Dalton Ryan (Jodi) Stanley of Lexington; a daughter, Cierra Faye Banks of Lexington; grandson, Bentley Munn; granddaughters: Presley Munn and Willow Stanley; sisters: Michelle (Raymond) Kilgore, Tammy Kelly and Lisa McRae; brothers: Jerry (Denise) Stewart and David Meetze; and various nieces and nephews.

Indomitable Spirit, Infectious Humor and Undying Faith

Not only was Larry an adored family man, he was also loved by many outside of his family. His infectious humor brought smiles to everyone he met, even charming complete strangers with his quick wit. Larry’s friends were significant to him, and he spent countless Friday nights at various restaurants filled with hearty laughter and warm camaraderie.

Extremely calming in his conviction, Larry often sought solace in spirituality, and he quoted frequently, “God has got this.” His faith provided him the strength to face his illness with dignity and courage. Larry was a keen golfer and an ardent member of the Orangeburg Country Club. He was also a devoted fan of the Carolina Gamecocks. In the honor of his love for the team, he requested everyone attending his funeral to wear garnet and black.

Legacy in the Building Industry

Professionally, Larry contributed significantly to the building industry. Since 2005, he had been an integral part of Builders Wholesale Flooring, serving most recently as the Branch Manager. His contributions to the field are deeply admired and will be greatly missed.

The Farewell Ceremony

The visitation for Larry Bruce Stanley, Jr. will be held at the Barr-Price Funeral Home, 609 Northwood Road, Lexington, SC, on Monday, September 2, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm. The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, September 3, 2024, starting at 3 pm at the Harvest Church located on 4865 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC. Larry’s commitment to his community extended beyond his lifetime, and in lieu of flowers, contributions to the Mission Fund at Harvest Church are most welcome.

A noble soul has departed from our midst, yet the memories of Larry Bruce Stanley, Jr. live on behind. Later, he may be remembered as a loving family man, a loyal friend, an esteemed professional, or a committed community member. But the essence of Larry Bruce Stanley, Jr. — his kindness, his compassion, and his unwavering faith — will remain intact in people’s hearts, leaving an indelible impact long after he’s gone.
