In the latest development from education in Lexington, South Carolina, Allison Jackson has been named as the new assistant principal at Wood Elementary School. The appointment was announced by the Lexington Two Board of Trustees at its meeting held on June 20, 2024.
Jackson brings with her a wealth of educational experience and organizational leadership. Her prior experience includes a role as assistant administrative principal at Lexington-Richland 5’s Piney Woods Elementary School – a role she began in July 2023.
Prior to Piney Woods Elementary School, Jackson was affiliated with Midway Elementary School of Lexington 1 where she made significant contributions as a lead interventionist, interventionist, classroom teacher, and instructional math coach during her 10-plus year stint. Jackson has a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina, reflecting her solid educational background.
In response to her new appointment, Jackson expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am eager to join Wood Elementary School as a new assistant principal.” She further expressed her commitment towards the students, staff, and families, communicating her vision for nurturing the school community while focus on fostering student achievement and holistic child development.
Believing herself to be a ‘servant leader’, a key goal for Jackson is building positive relationships with everyone involved with the school. Concluding her statement, she said, “I am excited to have the opportunity to join the innovative team focused on being Champions for Children.”
Jackson is due to start her new role at Wood Elementary School from July 1, 2024.
