Tragic Accident Claims Life of Lexington Woman

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — On a seemingly ordinary Tuesday morning, the community of Lexington was rocked by a tragic accident that left a 52-year-old woman dead. Around 7:38 a.m., emergency responders rushed to the scene at the intersection of Boiling Springs Road and Longview Street, about eight miles south of town.

The Incident

According to troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident involved two vehicles: a 2009 Chevy pickup truck and a 2019 Chevy sedan, which was driven by Nita Lynn Regino. Reports indicate that Regino was heading east on Longview Street while the pickup truck was traveling north on Boiling Springs Road.

Sadly, the two vehicles collided in a devastating manner, leaving Regino with fatal injuries. Despite wearing a seatbelt, she was pronounced dead at the scene—a heart-wrenching loss for her family and friends, as confirmed by the Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher.

Aftermath

The driver of the pickup, who was the only occupant in that vehicle, was promptly transported by EMS to Lexington Medical Center. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the collision, but the investigation is ongoing as the SC Highway Patrol works to piece together what happened.
