COLUMBIA, S.C.: SLED Charges Man With Murder, Victim from Sumter County
Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) have charged Quenell Marquis Anderson, 37, with Murder on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in connection with a case involving a victim from Sumter County.
Arrest and Assistance
Anderson was apprehended in Upper Marlboro, MD, with assistance from the Maryland State Police, who were supported by officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department. SLED previously charged Roscoe Pough, Jr., 37, with Accessory After the Fact to Murder on Monday, March 4, 2024.
Investigation and Identification
SLED was requested on March 2, 2024, by the Johnston Police Department to investigate a death. The Edgefield County Coroner later identified the deceased as Ricky Martin, Jr., 35, of Sumter, SC.
Legal Proceedings
Anderson was booked at the Edgefield County Detention Center and is currently housed in the Newberry County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
