His journey began in South Carolina, where he was raised by his devoted parents, Bryan Keith Amodio and Christina Elizabeth Sims.

A Journey of Service

After graduating from Lexington High School, Matthew made the noble choice to serve his country, joining the U.S. Coast Guard in the Fall of 2021. For three years, he served as a patrol boat machinist in the scenic coastal town of South Padre Island, Texas. This incredible experience allowed him to grow not just as a sailor but also as a compassionate individual dedicated to helping others.

Life After Service

Upon returning home, Matthew showcased his adventurous spirit by obtaining his CDL license, which set the stage for him to drive big rigs across the Southeastern United States. His wanderlust led him to settle in Midland, Texas, where he contributed to oil drilling operations in the famous Permian Basin for the past eight months. It was clear to everyone that Matthew was always ready to take on new challenges with a smile and a friendly attitude.

A Personality That Shone Bright

Matthew was known for his incredible joy for life. His friends and family often described him as spontaneous, funny, goofy, and most importantly, compassionate. A Passion for Gamecock Pride

Adding to his charming profile, Matthew was an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks. During games, his emotions came alive, showing just how deeply he cherished this part of his identity. Whether they won or lost, his spirit for his team was contagious, bringing friends and family together in joyful camaraderie.

A Faithful Man

Throughout his life, Matthew held a deeply personal relationship with Jesus and loved God wholeheartedly. This connection only added to his warmth and kindness toward those around him. Matthew’s faith guided him in creating connections that would last a lifetime.

Cherished Memories and Legacy

Matthew leaves behind not only his loving parents, Christina Sims (Scott) and Bryan Amodio (Lora) but also his three sisters, Alyssa Sims, Kyndall Sims, and Sophia Amodio. He is also survived by four step-sisters, including Nina Pinckney (Caleb), Rebecca Adkins, Madison Brabham, and Heather Brabham. His memory will also be cherished by those previously departed, including grandparents and uncles who will hold him close in their hearts.
