Exciting New Mini Libraries Unveiled in Columbia

On October 10th, the City of Columbia launched its latest creative initiative, the “Columbia Streams Art” public art program, and introduced the first of its community mini libraries at St. John’s Baptist Church and Preparatory School. This launch is not just about putting up colorful library boxes; it’s a mission to enhance literacy and spark creativity among people of all ages in our neighborhoods.

They replicate the familiar look of newspaper vending machines and have been vibrantly painted by children enrolled in Columbia Parks & Recreation after-school programs as well as seniors from the Lourie Center’s art classes.
