Missing Man Found Safe in Greenville County After Long Search

GREENVILLE COUNTY, SC – A multi-day search operation for Mark Wagnon, a man reported missing in Greenville County, ended on a positive note as the man was found alive and safe, according to SLED officials.

The Search For Wagnon

Wagnon, who was reportedly `missing` since Monday, had his vehicle discovered off Highway 107 on Tower Road, by deputies from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. A volunteer search group initiated a large-scale search operation and was finally able to located Wagnon on Saturday afternoon at around 3:15 p.m. The location where Wagnon was found was approximately half a mile from the location of his car.

Rescue and Recovery

Wagnon was discovered near the Foothills Trail, not on the trail but in a valley near a creek. When found, Wagnon was somewhat disoriented and dehydrated, but able to communicate. Additionally, he also had a few minor injuries. As soon as Wagnon was located, his family members were notified, and he was immediately extracted by rescue members to a safer location.

Medical Assistance & Further Evaluation

After his rescue, Wagnon was transported to a medical facility for further evaluation of his injuries and health condition. His condition is reported as stable with none of his injuries appearing to be life-threatening.

The operation to locate and rescue Wagnon was a joint endeavor involving law enforcement officials, emergency responders, and even members of the general public. The search group, composed of both professional rescuers and community volunteers, demonstrated commendable dedication, conducting an extensive search operation for several days.
