SLED: Search Continues for Missing Upstate Man

Car of Mark Wagnon, 66, Found in Mountain West

The search continues for a missing man from upstate South Carolina. Mark Wagnon, 66 years old, was last seen driving a grey 2010 Nissan Sentra on Greer Hwy in Travelers Rest on Monday. The SC Law Enforcement Division (SLED) confirmed on Friday that Mr. Wagnon’s vehicle was found in Mountain West.

Missing Person’s Description

According to SLED reports, Mr. Wagnon is a white male, 5’7″ tall, and was last spotted in a blue collared shirt along with blue jeans. Anyone possessing information about Mark Wagnon’s whereabouts is being urged to immediately contact the authorities by dialing 911.

Search Intensifies

The discovery of Mr. Wagnon’s car in Mountain West has intensified the search efforts. Local volunteers and search teams from surrounding counties have joined law enforcement in the efforts to locate the missing man.

Search teams are familiarizing themselves with the area around where the vehicle was found. Details of how his car came to be found in Mountain West, distant from Wagnon’s last known location, have not been revealed.

Public Invitation to Aid Search Efforts

Given the circumstances of the case, community members are also being invited to assist in search efforts. However, according to officials, these efforts must be coordinated properly to ensure they do not disrupt or impede broad investigative efforts.

Individuals are being advised not to put themselves at risk by wandering into potentially hazardous terrain unaccompanied or without adequate training and equipment. Instead, they are urged to communicate any information they may have to law enforcement immediately. Time may be of the essence in such cases and the public’s cooperation is deemed critical by the authorities.

Mr. Wagnon Considered Endangered

Although details are limited, for privacy concerns, it has been affirmed to the concerned public that Mr. Wagnon is considered endangered. While there was no initial indication of foul play involved in his disappearance, the man’s health and the current circumstances prompt a heightened sense of urgency in locating him.

Contact 911 With Information

Once again, anyone with information that could potentially lead to the whereabouts of Mr. Mark Wagnon is strongly advised to promptly contact 911. It is crucial that citizens refrain from independently intercepting based on the information due to the potential risks involved and allow law enforcement to handle the situation.
