Sunny Skies in Cayce Clouded by Power Outages and Safety Precautions

Sunny Skies and Power Outages: A Day in Cayce

Good day, Cayce! As you look out your window this morning, you may notice the beautiful, mostly sunny skies stretching across our town. With temperatures expected to reach around 85°F, it’s the perfect weather to enjoy some time outdoors, if it weren’t for the unexpected circumstances affecting our lovely community.

Unfortunately, the City of Cayce has announced that their offices will be closed today due to ongoing power outages. So, if you were hoping to visit City Hall or any other municipal office, you might want to hold off for now. The city officials are doing their best to resolve the issues quickly, and we appreciate your patience as they navigate through this situation.

Stay Safe on the Roads

As a friendly reminder, Cayce’s officials ask that residents stay off the roads if you can. Safety is key right now, and keeping traffic to a minimum will allow emergency services to work more effectively. Good news, though—our Parks team along with the Cayce Police and Fire departments are out in the field, working diligently to ensure everyone’s safety. If you spot any downed trees or hazards, make sure to report them. Your observations can greatly help in maintaining our community during this time.

Important Contacts for Cayce Residents

For those of you who might need assistance, here are some important phone numbers to keep handy:

  • All Emergencies: Call 911
  • Non-Emergency City Line: 803-794-0456
  • Power Outages or Downed Lines (Dominion Energy): 1-888-333-4465
  • Stormwater: 803-359-4103
  • Gas Leaks: 800-815-0083
  • Roads (SCDOT): 855-467-2368
  • Public Information Hotline (SC Emergency Management Division): 866-246-0133

The city officials are keeping a close eye on the situation, and although there may be some inconveniences today, sanitation pick-up services are set to continue as usual. The city has deployed their teams to target any trouble spots as they work to restore power and clear any debris.

Looking Forward

Cayce residents can expect a few clouds throughout the day, but overall, it seems like a charming day to stretch those legs and maybe take a short stroll in your neighborhood—just be cautious of any potential hazards from last night’s storms. The light and variable winds from the south-southwest at 10 to 15 mph could make for a gentle breeze, perfect for when you step outside!

As we wrap up this update, let’s band together as a community and support one another during this time. Those who are able to lend a helping hand, whether that’s checking in on neighbors or offering assistance to those who may need it, are the heartbeat of Cayce. We’re all in this together, and the sun will shine on our great city again soon.

Stay safe out there, Cayce! We’ll keep you posted with any updates as the day unfolds.
