Lexington County, S.C. – A Saturday night turned tragic for the community of Lexington County as a motorcyclist lost their life in a harrowing accident on U.S. 21. The crash, which occurred around 8:50 p.m., has left many shocked and grieving as they await further details.
According to Master Trooper Mitchell Ridgeway from the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the unfortunate incident took place about two miles south of Pine Ridge, right near the busy intersection with I-26. The motorcyclist was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson, heading north when things took a devastating turn.
It appears the motorcycle veered off the road to the right, crashing into several construction barrels, along with a road closure sign. In addition to the driver, there was a passenger on the motorcycle who was seriously injured in the crash. Emergency responders acted swiftly, transporting them to Prisma Health Richland Hospital for immediate medical attention.
