Exciting Times in Downtown Lexington!
Hey there, friends! If you’ve been strolling down Main Street in Lexington lately, you know it’s buzzing with energy and brand-new options to explore. The downtown area has seen a surge in restaurants, bars, boutiques, and other fun spots cropping up, and it seems the heart of it all is the stunning Icehouse Amphitheater. Every year, this venue attracts thousands of people with its lively calendar of concerts, movies, and markets. And guess what? There’s more to this vibrant scene!
New Barber Shop Opens its Doors
On October 1, the downtown vibe got even better with the opening of Circa Barbershop. If you didn’t know, Circa has been making waves since it was established in Columbia way back in 2014. They’ve expanded their family throughout South Carolina and, now, they’re proud to branch out to Lexington. This new shop is conveniently situated at 101-B E. Main St., right behind Craig Reagin Clothiers and Craft Axe Throwing, just across from Cribb’s Sandwich & Sweet Shop, and a hop, skip, and a jump from the Icehouse.
Meet Halie Holland
Owner/operator Halie Holland is leading the Lexington Circa, and she’s been with the company for five inspiring years. Halie is no stranger to the barbershop scene as she has worked at various Circa locations, and she shared her enthusiasm about taking on this new adventure. “It’s definitely a big leap, but I’m thankful I have my whole team,” Halie said. With plans to eventually bring on four barbers and a regularly rotating barber, there’s bound to be someone ready to give you a fresh new look!
Curious about a haircut? You might want to make a reservation through the Circa website since they’re popular! Circa continues to grow and now boasts several locations in the Columbia area, and even in places like Greenville, Traveler’s Rest, Charleston, and even Pittsburgh.
Why Lexington?
Circa’s founder DR Granger has had his eye on Lexington for nearly two years, scouting for the perfect location to partner with Halie. “We felt like this was close enough to Columbia to be within arm’s reach of her [existing] clientele,” he explained. His words point to a deep appreciation for the Lexington community, with many clients singing its praises over the years.
Shop and Groom in Style
One of the great perks of visiting the Lexington Circa is the ability to pick up some stylish threads while you’re at it! When you walk into the shop, you’ll notice there’s an additional entrance to Craig Reagin Clothiers right next door. It’s a match made in heaven, just like enjoying a fine meal and a refreshing drink! “I feel like upscale men’s grooming and upscale men’s clothing go hand-in-hand,” Halie noted. Amen to that! You can leave the shop looking sharp from head to toe.
A Little History
The historic building where Circa resides has a rich past, dating back to 1919. Thanks to Chapin Commercial Construction, it has been beautifully renovated to house Circa and office spaces for Craig Reagin. “Renovating a historic building like this presents unique challenges,” said founder Chad Lindler, emphasizing the rewarding nature of revitalizing downtown.
More Excitement on Main Street
The opening of Circa comes amidst a wave of new developments along the Lexington Main Street corridor. Just last month, the Latin and Asian fusion restaurant TakoSushi opened its doors, and there’s more to come with Voodoo Brewing planning a location next door. And for steak lovers, keep your eyes peeled for a modern steakhouse from a trio of restaurateurs in the former Alodia’s space!
All in all, it’s clear that Lexington is a place of growth, excitement, and community. Whether you’re looking for a fresh haircut, a meal out with friends, or just enjoying a concert at the Icehouse, there’s no shortage of things to do. So why not dive into everything Lexington has to offer? You won’t regret it!
